but simply a certain temporary and mistaken use of reality.
Evil is only the good perverted.
Evil is but a shadow -
a shadow that is cast by the life of man himself
when he is in the light,
and only when he is in the light,
it being impossible to cast a shadow when in the dark.
The evil comes from his thinking in the shadow,
and by following the shadow
during a large portion of his daily existence.
Evil is known only to those who have evolved sufficiently
from the lower states of consciousness
to have come up into the light,
as it is not possible for those to know shadows
who have never been in the light.
Evil, being mere nothingness or emptiness,
would never disturb us
if we did not make "something" out of it.
Do not array the good against the evil.
We should never try to eliminate evil.
We remove evil, not by resistance,
but by permitting evil to be itself,
which is nothing.
To resist evil, to give thought to evil,
or to work against evil,
is to give more life and power
to the very thing you wish to remove.
When we give conscious recognition to the existence of an evil
we give more life an power to those conditions that call called evil,
and in consequence make them much worse than they were.
It is unwise to give attention or recognition to evil
under any circumstances.
The more we interfere with evil the more we make of evil
and the more we disturb the development of the good,
thus retarding the growth of the very thing that can remove evil.
We have no time to create the good
while constantly interfering with evil.
We can not remove evil;
this good alone can do;
but we can create the good in sufficient abundance
to cause all evil to disappear.
Evil inevitably disappears when left to itself,
to be itself, which is nothing;
but to leave evil alone,
the mind must give the whole of its attention
to the creation of the good.
When we examine evil
we find it is a condition of emptiness or incompleteness,
and can live only until the fullness and the completeness
of the opposite good appears.
Instead of antagonizing the so-called evil,
we would ask what it all means,
and what good advice this friend has to give us
at this particular time.
The so-called evils of the world are good friends
existing on the right and on the left of the path
to remind us when we step aside,
so that we may return at once.
Instead of trying to remove evil,
we should let it alone,
and return to the great path.
We were not wasting life trying to remove evil,
or trying to remove those conditions
that are absolutely necessary where they are,
acting as eternal reminders to the human race
in order that no individual may remain outside of the path
for any length of time.
Evil exists only as a shadow,
having not reality or permanency in itself.

These so-called evils will prove to be instructors,
giving us valued and timely information along many lines.
Instead of trying to remove evil,
we should let it alone,

Evils do not exist upon the path;
but they do exist outside the path.
